At 8 p.m. on July 20, Crowsnest Pass RCMP received a report from Alberta Fish and Wildlife that possible human remains had been found in a rural area. Members of the Crowsnest Pass detachment attended the area and located what appeared to be human remains. As a result, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes was called in, along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Services, to examine the scene.

Further investigation concluded that human remains had been located and were confirmed to be those of Lane Tail Feathers. Mounties say Tail Feathers’ death is being treated as suspicious and Major Crimes has taken over the on-going investigation.

Mounties say an update will be provided once further information is available.
