41 new COVID cases in Lethbridge Thursday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The province has released its latest report on COVID-19 for Thursday, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

1,254 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 307,019. Of those, 18,411 cases are active while 285,794 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 168 people tested positive with 41 in Lethbridge. Active cases are down significantly across the province.

Since yesterday’s update, 10 Albertans died from COVID with two new in the South Zone. To date, 2,814 people in the province have died as a result of the virus.

The deaths in the South Zone were for residents of Medicine Hat.

Provincially, 1,094 patients are currently hospitalized including 248 who have been admitted to intensive care.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

  • Calgary Zone – 115,460 cases, 4,539 active
    • 268 in hospital, 79 in ICU
    • 794 deaths (one less)
  • Edmonton Zone – 97,608 cases, 4,304 active
    • 311 in hospital, 109 in ICU
    • 1,216 deaths (six new)
  • North Zone – 40,508 cases, 3,744 active
    • 163 in hospital, 11 in ICU
    • 295 deaths (two new)
  • Central Zone – 32,837 cases, 3,758 active
    • 213 in hospital, 23 in ICU
    • 289 deaths (two new)
  • South Zone – 20,556 cases, 2,050 active
    • 139 in hospital, 26 in ICU
    • 220 deaths (one new)

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone. The numbers in brackets show new cases or deaths over the past 24 hours:

  • Lethbridge – 6,359 cases (41 new), 462 active, 46 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 2,318 cases (nine new), 147 active, five deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 2,099 cases (23 new), 164 active, 14 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,934 cases (nine new), 151 active, 27 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 4,117 cases (31 new), 527 active, 63 deaths (two new)
  • Brooks – 2,021 cases (19 new), 164 active, 20 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,740 cases (11 new), 166 active, 15 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,618 cases (18 new), 175 active, 25 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 1,108 cases (10 new), 157 active, 11 deaths
  • Cypress County – 787 cases (four new), 76 active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 662 cases (one new), 65 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 556 cases, 45 active, nine deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 482 cases (11 new), 50 active, six deaths
  • County of Newell – 416 cases (five new), 47 active, five deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 300 cases (nine new), 66 active, five deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 135 cases, 13 active, one death
  • Waterton – Seven cases, zero active, zero deaths
