LETHBRIDGE, AB – The COVID-19 pandemic has lead to many restaurant-goers heading to outdoor patios. The good news is, one establishment in Lethbridge has one of the country’s best.

OpenTable Canada District Director Matt Davis was pleased to announce the names featured in the 2021 ranking of 100 Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining.

“For the first time ever, we’re releasing a best outdoor dining list in the fall, so anyone who wants to make the most of this year’s extended patio season can choose from among the best-rated patios in the country. Diners are determined to enjoy every last moment of the season, and restaurants are going above and beyond to make it happen.”

The list was generated by diner reviews collected between June 1, 2020, and May 31, 2021. Restaurants with a minimum overall score and number of qualifying reviews were considered.

Factors such as the overall rating, “user clout”, the number of reviews, and the regional rating were all factored. Qualifying restaurants were then scored and sorted according to the sum of tags for which “hot spot” was selected as a special feature.

Only one eating establishment south of Calgary in Alberta made the list – Firestone Restaurant and Bar in Lethbridge.

Last month, the locally-owned restaurant also got an honourable mention for the “Best Caesar in Town” contest, earning them a $10,000 prize.

Firestone is not a part of a franchise – Owner Jeff Gliege has chosen to keep it local and independent.
