LETHBRIDGE, AB – Just in time for the holidays, residents of Lethbridge and the surrounding area will have an easier time making it to their destinations.

WestJet started to offer more frequent flights between YQL and YYC at the beginning of November, which is set to become the norm.

Previously, they only offered one flight each day between Lethbridge and Calgary.

Now, between November 1 and December 12, WestJet Link/Pacific Coastal will do two flights every Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

From December 13 to December 19, there will be a pair of flights each Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

As of December 20, two daily takeoffs will become standard every single day.

This will surely be welcome news for not only travellers, but those in the tourism and hospitality industries in the area.

LNN previously reported that airport traffic in Lethbridge was down 79 per cent in 2020, mostly due to travel restrictions.

Staff have been utilizing the down period to undertake a series of upgrades to the facility, ranging from major infrastructure projects to improved terminal and baggage systems.
