LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Member of Parliament for Lethbridge has a new last name.

After the now-former Rachael Harder got married back in June, she has legally changed her name to Rachael Thomas.

“I look forward to taking my seat in the House of Commons to represent the wonderful people of Lethbridge, and I’m thrilled to be doing so under my married name: Rachael Thomas,” she said in a press release.

Despite the changed name, Thomas assures that her role in the House of Commons will remain the same – holding the federal government to account.

She believes Ottawa should focus on four primary things: “keeping the country united; ensuring Canadians are kept safe and secure; facilitating an environment of economic prosperity; and advancing Canada’s place on the world stage.”

In September’s federal election, Thomas secured her third term in Parliament with approximately 56 per cent of the votes.
