LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Mayor Blaine Hyggen is getting set to mark the start of this summer’s Whoop-Up Days with the Mayor’s Community Barbecue.

The barbecue is set for Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside of Lethbridge City Hall on 4 Avenue South, following the Whoop-Up Days parade. The popular parade is taking place for the first time since 2019.

The first 750 people to attend the barbecue can enjoy free burgers, hot dogs, chips and pop, with face painting available for the kids.

Musician Trevor Panczak will perform a full concert on the steps of City Hall and there will be a special appearance and autographs by champion chuckwagon driver Kris Molle, who won the Calgary Stampede’s Dash for Cash last month.

Mayor Hyggen said, “I couldn’t be more excited to have Whoop-Up Days back.”

“I want thank the community and make this barbecue and concert a real celebration to focus on all the great positives we have going on in Lethbridge. Avoid the post-parade traffic and come down to enjoy live entertainment and a free lunch,” he stated.
