Rain rain go away: Lethbridge kicks off Whoop-Up Days
LETHBRIDGE, AB – A little wet weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of attendees at Whoop-Up Days on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Right when the gates opened at 1:00 p.m., hundreds of families made their way onto the grounds to enjoy everything Whoop-Up Days has to offer.
This marks 125 years of Whoop-Up Days, and there are plenty of ways to make the most of it, whether you like to ride the attractions on the midway, play carnival games, enjoy local food trucks, or browse the dozens of vendors from across Southern Alberta.
Some of the unique attractions that are happening during Whoop-Up Days this year include Twiggy the Water-skiing Squirrel, Extreme Dogs, and a kids pedal tractor pull. There are also a number of new attractions this year, such as the Lethbridge & District Siksikaitsitapi Pow Wow and Princess Pageant, an outdoor beach party dubbed “YQL Beach”, and an art show featuring Southern Alberta artists called “La Galleria”.
