LETHBRIDGE, AB – A retired Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) officer and victim services worker will take to the stand more than one year from now.

In Lethbridge Court of King’s Bench earlier this month, trial dates of April 22 to May 3, 2024, were set for William (Bill) Kaye, 63, of Lethbridge.

He is charged with one count each of sexual assault, criminal harassment, and breach of trust.

Coaldale RCMP began to investigate allegations of sexual assault in January 2021 and Kaye turned himself in on March 10, 2022.

The incidents allegedly occurred between December 2017 and April 2018. During this period, Kaye was employed with the Domestic Violence Action Team (DVAT) in Lethbridge.

Kaye retired from LPS in 2014 and from the DVAT in February 2021.
