LETHBRIDGE, AB – If you have any old paint cans or broken tube televisions that you are looking to get rid of, the City of Lethbridge is hosting an event for you this weekend.

On Saturday, November 19, 2022, the Waste and Recycling department will host a toxic and electronic waste (e-waste) roundup. Residents can drop off any household hazardous and e-waste for free from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the parking lot of Lethbridge City Hall.

Household hazardous waste and e-waste includes, but is not limited to:

  • Used oil
  • Antifreeze
  • Paint
  • Cleaning solvents
  • Gardening and pest control products
  • Light bulbs
  • Televisions
  • Mobile phones

The toxic and e-waste roundup is a pilot project that was started by Lethbridge City Council this past summer. It encourages residents to keep household hazardous items and e-waste out of their black waste carts and landfill, while providing a convenient location for drop-off within city limits.

The City of Lethbridge noted that for residents who cannot make Saturday’s event, household hazardous items and e-waste can be dropped off at the Waste and Recycling Centre year-round.
