Nov 21, 2022 | 11:56 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge residents are being asked to share their thoughts on the city’s parks.

Starting Monday, November 21, 2022, until Friday, December 16, residents are invited to complete a survey. The questionnaire will assist with the future planning of parks operations and help in the development of the City of Lethbridge Parks Master Plan.

The plan is a strategic document that aims to guide the city in the management of parks services over the next 15 to 20 years.

Parks Planning Manager with the City of Lethbridge, Chris Witkowski said, “What we’re looking for is, what are people wanting to see in the parks?”

“So, we have some questions around different amenities that can go in the parks, we’re looking at some questions around naturalization, development, even kind of the size of the parks, some of the core services that we offer in terms of maintenance, accessibility [and] inclusivity,” says Witkowski.

Witkowski added, “Understanding our residents’ priorities in regards to park features and services is a critical step to making the Parks Master Plan a success.”

“We want to ensure our parks and the amenities found within them make our city a desirable place to work, play and raise a family.”

Blair Richter, Parks and Cemeteries General Manager said, “Since our last master plan we have seen the completion of many additional park spaces including Legacy Regional Park.”

Residents can fill out the survey online.

Individuals can fill out a hard copy of the survey. To receive a hard copy of the questionnaire, residents can call Lethbridge 311 and must have it handed in to the City of Lethbridge by December 16.
