Lethbridge man charged in connection with convenience store robbery

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has charged a 34-year-old man in connection with a southside convenience store robbery.

On November 18, 2022, at around 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at a convenience store along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South.

Police said the investigation found that a masked man entered the store, armed with a folding knife.

The LPS reported that the suspect then went behind the counter and stolen cash, cigarettes, and lottery tickets before fleeing the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The LPS obtained video surveillance footage of the incident and said following a further investigation by the Crime Suppression Team, it was determined that the same suspect was linked to a credit card fraud earlier in the day. The suspect was identified and arrested without incident on December 8, 2022.

Taylor Terry Wiseman, 24, of Lethbridge, faces the following charges:

  • One count of robbery
  • One count of disguised with intent
  • One count of possession of an offensive weapon
  • One count of theft of a credit card
  • One count of use of a stolen credit card

Wiseman has since been released from custody and is scheduled to be in court on January 16, 2023.
