Lethbridge College to temporarily close over the holidays

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College will see temporary closures and reduced hours over the holidays.

Officials at the post-secondary institution said it will be closed Saturday, December 24, 2022 to Monday, January 2, 2023. Employees at the college will return to campus on Tuesday, January 3.

Lethbridge College is open for its regular hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., this week up until December 24.

During the winter break, the Buchanan Library, Wellness Services and Digitex Print Shop will be closed.

The college noted that Recreation Services, which includes the fitness centre, Val Matteotti Gymnasium, change rooms and the squash and racquetball courts, will be closed December 24 to 27 and again on January 1 and 2. Reduced hours of operation are as follows:

  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on December 28, 29 and 30.
  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 31.

Regular hours of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. for Recreation Services will resume starting Tuesday, January 3.

Additionally, New Student Orientation starts on January 3 with an Indigenous Services Winter Welcome, happening in-person and online. Several program orientations will occur on January 4, along with campus tours and lunch with the Lethbridge College Students’ Association.

The college is encouraging students to pre-register for the New Student Orientation online.

The first day of classes for the Winter semester is Thursday, January 5.
