Red Deer RCMP seeking witnesses in stabbing investigation
RED DEER, AB – The RCMP in Red Deer is seeking help to locate a suspect in connection with a stabbing.
Police said that on February 3, 2023, at 12:20 p.m., the Red Deer RCMP received a report of a stabbing at the Real Canadian Super Store on 51 Avenue in Red Deer. Official said a 23-year-old woman had a confrontation with the suspect in one of the aisles in the store.
According to the RCMP, the suspect lunged at the victim and stabbed her in the neck with an unidentified object. The victim was taken to hospital, where police said she remains in stable condition.
A surveillance image of the suspect has since been released by the RCMP. The suspect is described as a female with a light complexion, light brown hair and was wearing a black jacket, white boots and a white hoodie. Police said the suspect was seen with a male associate while in the store.
