Volunteer Coach Development Initiative to launch in Lethbridge

Feb 9, 2023 | 1:39 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge Pronghorn Athletics, the Lethbridge Sport Council and FSQ Sport Consulting have announced the launch of a new Coach Development Initiative in the city.

The initiative will help volunteer coaches who want to advance their skills with an interactive coach development course that will cover key concepts for a player-centered experience. It will also address non-sport-specific topics to help improve the coaching experience.

Graeme Moffat, Director of Coach Development at the University of Lethbridge, says he feels like this initiative will prompt more individuals to get involved in coaching.

“Our goal with this initiative is to empower more parents and individuals to step up as coaches, building a stronger community for sport participation for all kids and young people in our amazing city.”

The initiative will be launched at the Pronghorn Athletics Coach Conference on April 14 and 15, 2023.
