Beyond Van Gogh exhibit running at ENMAX Centre

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The ENMAX Centre is playing host to a showcase of one of the world’s most famous artists.

Beyond Van Gogh, the immensely popular traveling exhibit that has sold over five million tickets globally, began its run at the ENMAX Centre on Friday July 14, and will run until Sunday, August 6, 2023.

The exhibit uses original score and projection technology to showcase over 300 pieces of Van Gogh’s artwork, occupying over 30,000 square feet.

Natasha Lowenthal, Producer and Media rep with Paquin Entertainment, who put on the show along with Normal Studio, said the exhibit provides a unique opportunity for art-lovers to experience.

She explained, “First of all, you would have to travel the world to see all of these pieces, so this incredibly powerful in the sense that it really brings the paintings to you, and it brings the paintIngs in a way that is unique.”

Beyond Van Gogh has made appearances in many Canadian and North American cities since its inception over two years ago. Previously, the exhibit had been held in Calgary, Winnipeg, Surrey, Hamilton, Halifax and Ottawa. Canadian stops for 2023 are in Lethbridge, Regina and Victoria.

Jennifer Norsworthy, business development manager with the ENMAX Centre said the exhibit will bring lots of attention to both the ENMAX Centre and the city.

She added, “We’re always looking for ways to benefit and have an economic impact on this city. We know it was in Calgary a couple of years ago, but we’re still hoping that people who maybe missed that are wanting t come back and see it again.”

Norsworthy also said that tickets for the first weekend are nearly sold out with a lot of positive feedback from the community so far, and she hopes that will lead into more exhibits like Beyond Van Gogh moving forward.
