Lethbridge Police issue 130 tickets during Street Machine Weekend

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The annual Street Machine Weekend in Lethbridge drew crowds, but it also saw the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) issue over 100 tickets.

The LPS said officers issued 130 tickets and removed multiple impaired drivers from the road during the weekend event from July 14 to 16, 2023.

Police noted that most of the tickets were for stunting and equipment violations. Additionally, there were three Immediate Roadside Sanction Fails, two IRS zero tolerance for GDL drivers, one IRS Caution, one 24-hour suspensions, six vehicles towed, and one warrant executed.

Last year, 115 violation tickets were issued during Street Machine Weekend.

The LPS is thanking the Alberta Sheriffs for their assistance with enforcement throughout the weekend. Police have also thanked “the majority of participants who were respectful of the rules of the road and enjoyed the event responsibly.”
