Alberta investing $27.3 million towards research projects at four post-secondaries
EDMONTON, AB – Alberta’s government has announced funding to support innovative research at Alberta’s post-secondary institutions.
The province’s $27.3 million investment comes from the Major Innovation Fund. The funding will focus on projects in the areas of medical devices, electronic and mobile health, clean energy, and space and defence technologies.
The Universities of Alberta and Calgary will partner with other schools, such as the University of Lethbridge and Athabasca University to collaborate on the projects.
Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation, said, “Alberta’s post-secondary institutions have delivered world-class research in many fields including artificial intelligence, health care, energy, agriculture, and so much more.”
