Lethbridge crews rescue pair of hikers in Pavan Park area

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Emergency crews in Lethbridge conducted a rescue out of the coulees on Friday.

Shortly before 4 p.m. on December 29, 2023, the City of Lethbridge confirmed that Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services members were called out to the Pavan Park area after two residents were unable to hike out of the coulees.

Responders conducted a high-angle rescue to make sure the hikers were evacuated out of the area safely. Officials said one of the hikers suffered minor injuries, and no firefighters were hurt during the rescue.

In a news release, the City of Lethbridge reminded residents to be prepared for the environment and changing weather conditions they may face while out enjoying nature.
