Lethbridge College to host convocation this week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Graduates will be celebrated at Lethbridge College later this week.

Convocation ceremonies will be at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2024 in the Val Matteotti Gymnasium.

Additionally, the post-secondary will recognize Indigenous graduates from the fall 2023 and spring 2024 classes at an Honour Night in the Garden Court Restaurant. The event will bring Indigenous grads and their families together for food, gifts, speeches and more.

Over 1,200 students are set to receive degrees, diplomas or certificates from Lethbridge College this month, with about 550 of them expected to cross the stage Friday.

Officials say students have come from all over to attend the college, including international students coming from 21 different countries and more than 250 students who learned online.

A ceremony in the morning will celebrate graduates from the Centre for Technology, Environment and Design, the Centre for Trades and the Centre for Justice and Human Services. Meanwhile, the afternoon ceremony will recognize graduates from the Centre for Business, Arts and Sciences, and the Centre for Health and Wellness.

The college says both ceremonies will be livestreamed and will feature a formal recognition of accomplishments of valedictorian Annette Kampert.
