LETHBRIDGE, AB – There is now another place for people to get locally grown and made goods in Lethbridge.

The Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market returns to Festival Square (600 3 Avenue South) each Wednesday, beginning July 3, 2024.

Paul Kingsmith, Director of Community Engagement with Lethbridge & District Exhibition, says, “We’re grateful for our partnership with Downtown Lethbridge BRZ, which allows us to bring the Lethbridge Farmers’ Market into the heart of our city. Connecting with downtown shoppers is an important part of supporting our community and this market is a great opportunity to support amazing local vendors.”

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market is the only Alberta-approved farmers’ market in the city, meaning at least 80 per cent of the products are made, baked, or grown in Alberta.

Sarah Amies, Executive Director fo the Downtown Lethbridge BRZ, says she is excited to partner with Exhibition once again to reintroduce the weekly downtown farmers’ market.

“Bringing the Farmers’ Market to the Downtown presents an all-round win. Downtown workers, residents, and visitors have ease of access mid-week to stock up on fresh produce, baked goods, arts, and crafts, and are introduced an awareness of the value of our regional agricultural sector. Producers benefit by coming face to face with Lethbridge twice weekly,” says Amies.

The Downtown Lethbridge Farmers’ Market runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Wednesday until September 4. It is free to attend.

The Lethbridge Farmers Market also runs on Saturdays at the Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre.
