LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have released three players.

On Tuesday, July 3, 2024, the team announced they released 2004-born players Carter Dereniwsky and Braeden Wynne, and 2005-born import forward Elias Knoester.

Dereniwsky joined the Hurricanes in September 2023 following a trade with the Victoria Royals. He scored six goals and added six assists for 12 points in 49 games with the team last season, and chipped in a goal in the playoffs.

The Hurricanes acquired Wynne at the trade deadline from the Seattle Thunderbirds, and played 20 games for the team. Wynne was previously part of the Edmonton Oil Kings team that won the Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2022.

Knoester was drafted by the Hurricanes with the 42nd overall pick in the 2023 CHL Import Draft. The Swedish winger appeared in 36 regular season games in 2023-2024, totaling 12 points.

The release of Knoester will allow the Hurricanes to select in the 2024 CHL Import Draft with the 38th overall pick on Wednesday, July 3.
