13 WCBL players selected in 2024 MLB Draft

Multiple draft picks in the 2024 Major League Baseball draft have connections to the Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL).
The highest WCBL selection in this year’s draft was Sylvan Lake Gulls catcher Nathan Flewelling. The 17-year-old is a big part of the team’s offense, helping them currently sit in first place in the WCBL.
Following Flewelling, the following players were drafted:
- Sam Stuhr (Okotoks Dawgs) – 3rd Round, 94th Overall, Tampa Bay Rays
- Zane Zielinski (Regina Red Sox) – 9th Round, 268th Overall, San Francisco Giants
- Jack Lines (Okotoks Dawgs) – 12th Round, 366th Overall, Tampa Bay Rays
- Ryan Magdic (Swift Current 57’s) – 14th Round, 406th Overall, Oakland Athletics
- Mason Guerra (Okotoks Dawgs) – 14th Round, 431st Overall, Atlanta Braves
- Eric Rataczak (Brooks Bombers) – 16th Round, 484th Overall, Miami Marlins
- Titus Dumitru (Okotoks Dawgs) – 16th Round, 491st Overall, Atlanta Braves
- Micah McDowell (Okotoks Dawgs) – 17th Round, 514th Overall, Miami Marlins
- Tyler Hampu (Sylvan Lake Gulls – 18th Round, 528th Overall, Colorado Rockies
- Owen Pote (Okotoks Dawgs) – 19th Round, 569th Overall, Cincinnati Reds
