LETHBRIDGE, AB – Spitz Stadium will keep its current name for at least five more years.

On July 30, 2024, the City of Lethbridge announced that Spitz International had retained the naming rights to the stadium on a five-year, $250,000 agreement. The new deal also includes renewal options that could see the naming rights extended for an additional two years.

The funding comes from Spitz founder Thomas Droog, who now serves as the President of T & E Ventures Inc.

Droog says he is happy to keep the partnership going, “This is the way I say thank you to the people of Lethbridge and surrounding area for supporting us in the beginning with Spitz.”

Spitz originally obtained the naming rights to the park, formerly known as Henderson Stadium, in December of 2008. They signed a 15-year naming and product distribution agreement, which was scheduled to end in 2022. Another year was added onto the agreement due to a lost season during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the extension, Droog is also committing to a 10-year, $100,000 sponsorship of the Lethbridge Longhorns, and a one-time funding of $10,000 for additional signage at the stadium.

Kevin Kvame, President and General Manager of the Bulls and the Under The Lights baseball groups said, “It goes to show his passion for the local baseball community. On behalf of all the players who play here and the citizens who come to enjoy this tremendous facility, thank you Tom.”

The deal will be active through the 2029 Lethbridge Bulls season.
