COALDALE, AB – Dave Driscoll is stepping down from his post at the Palliser School Division.

He has been the Division’s superintendent since 2017 and has a career in education that spans 35 years.

Driscoll grew up in Fort Macleod and got his bachelor’s degree in education and physical education at the University of Calgary. He followed that up with a Master’s degree from Gonzaga University.

The Division says in a statement, “A passionate advocate for inclusion, Dave has worked tirelessly to ensure every student feels valued and supported. His vision is rooted in the belief that every adult member of a school community—from administrators to support staff to teachers—has the potential to be a trusted adult for students. He has championed the importance of meaningful connections and creating environments where students feel safe and empowered to thrive.”

He expressed his gratitude to the mentors he has worked with and the future leaders he has provided guidance to.

“I have always believed that you work with someone, not for them; we can only accomplish big things as a team,” he says.

Driscoll’s retirement takes effect on July 31, 2025.

The Palliser School Division’s Board of Trustees is now preparing to search for a new superintendent.
