Hurricanes’ Yager named one of Canada’s top three players at World Juniors
Lethbridge Hurricanes forward and Team Canada captain Brayden Yager was named one of Canada’s top three players at the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships.
Yager, along with Saskatoon Blades defenceman Tanner Molendyk and Owen Sound Attack goaltender Carter George, were announced as the recipients of the honour following Canada’s last minute upset loss to Czechia on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
In the tournament, Yager had three assists for as many points in five games, leading the Canadian team. In the playoff matchup against Czechia, Yager added a helper on each of Canada’s first two goals, while adding four shots on goal.
Yager will now return to a Hurricanes team that has won back to back games, trying to make a push for the top seed in the Central Division. Yager has played two games for Lethbridge since his trade in early December 2024, tallying a goal and three assists.
