Applicants needed for Lethbridge’s Subdivision and Development Appeal Board

Jan 5, 2025 | 6:00 AM

The City of Lethbridge is recruiting for one of its boards.

It says members are needed for the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (SDAB).

The purpose of the SDAB is to hear appeals regarding decisions made by the Development Officer, Subdivision Authority or the Municipal Planning Commission or development or subdivision applications. Its goal is to ensure compliance with the Municipal Government Act in terms of processes and procedures for the SDAB.

The municipality says the “quasi-judicial board offers a unique opportunity for residents to contribute to the city’s present and future by playing an active role in important decisions that shape the community.”

People who know about planning and development are encouraged to apply.

Applications are open from January 2 to February 28, 2025.

Residents interested in applying are encouraged to review the BCC Toolkit and the list of BCCs for details on eligibility, term lengths, and meeting schedules.

The Office of the City Clerk oversees board-member recruitment, appointments, and training on behalf of City Council. For further information, contact the Office of the City Clerk through 311 or via email at committee@lethbridge.ca.
