LPS seeking cell phone connected to murder investigation

Jan 7, 2025 | 11:33 AM

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is continuing to look into a murder that occurred in the city and they are asking for your help.

On December 28, 2024, police responded to reports of a suspicious death at a motel along the 2200 block of 7 Avenue South and located a woman dead inside a ground-floor room.

The death of the 34-year-old has been deemed a homicide.

LPS says a cell phone that is believed to be connected to the case may have been thrown into the bed of a truck that was parked in the Henderson Estates condo complex on the 2200 block of 8 Avenue South. The parking lot is on the west side of the property. The photo below shows where the parking lot is.

“Police are asking anyone with a truck who lives in the building or was visiting, and parked in the lot between December 26 and 28, 2024, to check their truck bed,” reads a media release from LPS.

If the cell phone is found, officers say not to touch it and to call LPS immediately at 403-328-4444. Reference case number 24025352.

Charges of first-degree murder and arson to property have been laid against Kyle Douglas Doddridge, 36, of Lethbridge, Drew Austin Waters, 28, of Cranbrook, B.C., and Melissa Christelle Tidlund, 23, of Pincher Creek.

All three suspects remain in custody.
