Wind Warning issued for Lethbridge and surrounding areas
Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) have issued a Wind Warning for the city of Lethbridge and surrounding areas.
Meteorologists say winds gusting to 100 km/h or higher are likely on Thursday. Officials say the strongest winds will occur east of the terrain, beginning in the morning and peaking in the afternoon. However, these winds are expected to weaken on Thursday night.
ECCC says damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.
Motorists, especially in high profile vehicles, may expect hazardous driving conditions on highways subject to strong cross winds.
