A man from southern Alberta has won six figures in the lottery.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation says Ronald Maksymowich claimed a $149,827.50 prize on his POKER LOTTO and ALL IN ticket from December 17, 2024.

“I knew that I won based on the store clerk’s eyes, then I looked at the screen and saw the hand on the screen,” says Maksymowich. “I was like, ‘Holy smokes!’”

“I went home and just kind of sat there trying to process. My mind was racing.”

Maksymowich was originally planning to use the money to buy a new truck but will instead dedicate his winnings to his family.

The ticket was purchased from the Vulcan Village Gas Bar at 128 Centre Street East.

He added ALL IN to his POKER LOTTO ticket for $1. He won the growing ALL IN jackpot of $139,827.50 AND the $10,000 Royal Flush instant prize.
