Milk River ties its cold weather record on Tuesday

Environment Canada says it was among the coldest February 18ths on record in one southern Alberta community.

Not counting the wind chill, they say the temperature dipped to a low of -29.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

That ties the record the town set for the day in 2011.

Although Lethbridge hit a low of -29.5, it was not enough to set a record for the city.

Another two cold records were set elsewhere in the province on Tuesday.

Coronation got down to -38.5, breaking its record set in 1929. The mercury hit -32.4 in Stony Plain, breaking its 1986 record.
