5.2 magnitude earthquake rocks Peace Region Thursday morning

Earthquakes Canada is reporting a seismic event occurred in northern Alberta at approximately 8:41 a.m., on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

The earthquake shook at a magnitude of 5.2, stemming 63km NE of Grande Cache. It came from 8.5 km within the earth.

People in Edson, Grande Prairie, Whitecourt, and even Prince George, B.C. have reported it being felt.

There have been no reports of damages so far.
