Weekly green cart collection resumes in Lethbridge

May 5, 2025 | 1:14 PM

Spring has sprung in Lethbridge, and with that, the return of more regular green bin pickups.

The City of Lethbridge says, as of the week of May 5, trucks will come by every week to collect organic waste.

“The seasonal approach to green cart collection accounts for variations in yard waste generation and addresses the ‘yuck factor’ or odour experienced during the warmer months with household organics,” reads a news release from the City of Lethbridge.

The municipality recently celebrated the two-year anniversary of the green bin program. They say nearly 13 million kilograms of organic waste have been diverted from the landfill, or about 382 kilograms per household.
