Unemployment improves slightly in Lethbridge, but worsens provincially
Lethbridge had a bit of a different experience with jobs this past month than the rest of the province.
Statistics Canada says the local unemployment rate in May 2025 was 5.2 per cent, falling from 5.4 per cent in April.
An additional 900 people found work in that time.
The population of the Lethbridge Census Metropolitan Area, which includes some immediately-surrounding communities like Coalhurst, increased by 300 people to 116,600.
