Jul 10, 2019 | 10:36 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents of Lethbridge living with chronic pain can take part in one of six free workshops through Alberta Health Services (AHS).

The “Better Choices, Better Health” program focuses on teaching tools and techniques common to those with chronic pain and emphasizes the fact that no one treatment is right for everyone.

It will be lead by trained volunteers, many of whom live with chronic pain themselves.

“This approach ensures an understanding of the challenges participants face and provides a supportive and welcoming environment.,” reads a press release from AHS.

Some of the topics include overcoming the physical and emotional challenges, movement, nutrition, and goal-setting.

Workshops run from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm each Wednesday starting on July 17th at the Alberta Healthy Living Program Office in Melcor Centre, at 424 5 St S.

Anyone planning to attend can register by calling 403-388-6654 or through a referral from a physician.
