Lethbridge Police investigate report of sexual assault

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police are investigating, after a 51-year-old woman reported that she was sexually assaulted in a north side alley Thursday evening.

Police say around 10 p.m., the woman was walking through an alley along the 1900 blk. of 6 Ave. N. when two men approached her and asked her for money. When she told them she didn’t have any, she was allegedly assaulted.

The woman ran to a nearly home and called police while the men fled on bikes. The woman was then transported to Chinook Regional Hospital. Police say a search of the area was done, but no possible suspects were located.

The first suspect is described as an aboriginal male, about six feet tall, wearing jeans. The second suspect is also described as an aboriginal male with short, dark hair, and a pock marked face. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt and jeans.

Police are hoping someone may have some security camera footage of the area and are also asking those who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
