LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge are looking into an assault outside of a local bar.

The LPS reported that on August 17 at around 2:36 a.m., officers responded to a call of a man being assaulted by a group of unknown males along the 1200 block of 1 Avenue South.

It was determined that a 25-year-old was outside of Boss Hogs with a woman when he allegedly got involved in a confrontation with occupants in a vehicle.

The white car briefly left the area, before returning. Several men exited the vehicle and assaulted the 25-year-old, according to police. They then returned to the car and fled the scene.

EMS were contacted and the victim was taken to hospital. He was treated for head injuries and later released. The investigation is ongoing.

LPS noted in their release that “contrary to speculation on social media, there is no evidence to suggest the subjects or the vehicle are associated to the Supervised Consumption Site.”

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the assault, recognizes the vehicle shown in the provided photograph, to contact the LPS’s A/Sgt. Liam Breedon at 403-330-5162.
