LETHBRIDGE, AB – A 29-year-old Lethbridge man, charged in connection with an alleged stabbing outside of the Supervised Consumption Site last September, has been released on $100-dollars cash bail.

Nathan Luke Brewer has been charged with two counts each of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

He must live with a relative in south Lethbridge and abide by several conditions, including staying away from the SCS, keeping the peace and not possessing any weapons. He must also stay away from the man he is alleged to have attacked.

Lethbridge Police say on Sept. 7, a 29-year-old man and a 39-year-old man who were known to one another were involved in an altercation outside of the SCS. The younger man allegedly hit the older man in the head, and he fell to the ground and was then stabbed in the face.

The 39-year-old was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

Brewer was arrested in connection with the incident and was scheduled to appear in court Sept. 18, however, the following day (Sept. 8), he went back to the SCS and was arrested for breach of a recognizance.

His one-day trial is set for June 4.
