Red Crow Community College closing campuses for COVID-19 concerns

STANDOFF, AB – Local administration in the Blood Tribe have announced more facility closures amidst concerns of COVID-19.

On Sunday, they announced that all daycares operated by the Blood Tribe Family and Community Support Services were being closed immediately, as well as all Blood Tribe schools.

Then on Monday evening, Red Crow Community College President Roy Weasel Fat announced that their campuses are being closed.

“As of March 16, 2020, RCCC will be closed for classes, students and the general public. Currently, RCCC is in the process of moving programs online to ensure that students can complete the semester and their programs.”

Starting on Monday, March 23, it is expected that all classes will be operational online.

“Please note that the student that was being tested for the coronavirus, tested negative. There is no threat to staff and students at this time.”
