Crowsnest Pass Mayor Blair Painter to run for re-election

CROWSNEST PASS, AB– Crowsnest Pass Mayor Blair Painter, says as of now, he plans to return his hat to the ring again and run for re-election.

After serving the last eight years as mayor of the mountain town, Painter says he still has more to accomplish.

Painter noted some of his highlights and the communities accomplishments throughout the past four years:

• Completely renovated the Municipal Pool
• Renovating the interior of the Municipal Pool building
• Expansion to the Pass Powder keg Ski Hill (increased length of bottom tow line)
• Undertaking complete rebuild of the Wastewater treatment plant
• Adding two traffic lights on Highway 3 and central lane turning through Frank

Over the past year, the Crowsnest Pass has been kept busy with coal projects that has many people concerned with its impact on the environment.

Being in the public’s eye throughout the coal process, Painter says as much of a distraction the whole process is, he still has work to do for the Crowsnest Pass and its people.

Painter tells the Crowsnest Pass, if you vote for him in the upcoming municipal election, you have his “dedicated” effort to his and the town’s work.

“I think our community can be proud of the achievements that we’ve been able to bring forward over the last two terms that I’ve been in office.”

“For me, it’s been eight years, that’s a big commitment and definitely cuts into my free time but I do enjoy it.”

Municipal Elections across Alberta take place on October 18.
