LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents in several Southern Alberta communities will have the opportunity to get their COVD-19 vaccines without having to book an appointment.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) sent out a series of tweets Wednesday afternoon, advising of “no-appointment, walk-in, first dose COVID-19 immunization clinics” in seven communities in the South Zone this week.

The following clinics are meant for any eligible Albertans looking to get their first dose of Pfizer’s vaccine:

  • Magrath Community Health Centre
    • Thursday, June 10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Brooks at Kinsmen Hall
    • Ongoing starting on Thursday, June 10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Raymond Health Centre
    • Thursday, June 10 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Taber Health Centre
    • Friday, June 11 and Saturday, June 12 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Lethbridge at Exhibition Park
    • Saturday, June 12 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm
  • Medicine Hat at Higdon Hall
    • Saturday, June 12 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

    • Saturday, June 12 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

As of Wednesday’s COVID-19 update, 66.7 per cent of people in the province had received their first shot.

In order to reach the third and final stage of lifting restrictions, 70 per cent of Albertans need to be at least partially immunized.

When that happens, nearly all public health measures are expected to be eased.

Premier Jason Kenney said earlier this week, however, that this will require an additional 115,000 Albertans getting their first doses in addition to the 100,000 appointments already booked over the next week.
