Highlands Boulevard West getting new three-way stop

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Drivers are getting a heads up from the City of Lethbridge.

The intersection of Highlands Boulevard West and Highlands Road West is changing to a three-way stop control. This change will come into effect as of July 14 and aims to improve traffic flow as well as the safety of pedestrians and vehicles. The city also cites increased traffic volume along Highlands Boulevard and Highlands Road as a reason for the change.

Sightlines have also been listed as an issue and according to city officials, a three-way stop control will help the ease of movement for traffic from Highlands Road.

Message boards have been placed to notify roadway users of the incoming change.
