LETHBRIDGE, AB – One week has been set aside next spring for a trial for a Lethbridge man charged with the death of a child.

On April 13, 2020, Neil Martin Skjodt, now 53, was allegedly travelling southbound on Aquitania Boulevard West and made a right turn into the westbound lanes of Whoop-Up Drive.

According to LPS, the driver struck two young boys who were crossing the street with their father in the crosswalk.

The father was not injured but a nine-year-old boy suffered minor injuries while a 10-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries that resulted in his death.

Skjodt plead not guilty to one count of careless driving back in November.
