Claresholm RCMP investigating fatal collision

CLARESHOLM, AB – On October 18, 2021, at approximately 2:45 pm emergency responders were called to a motor vehicle collision at the intersections of Township Road 142 and Range Road 262 near Stavely.
Claresholm RCMP says two vehicles were involved in the collision which allegedly saw a Mazda pickup truck and a Dodge Journey SUV collide.
The 68-year-old driver of the Mazda pickup truck from Stavely was deceased. RCMP says alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time.
Three people were inside the Dodge Journey at the time with one occupant being transported to hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, and the other two occupants were treated by EMS and released at the scene.
