Three Lethbridge Hurricanes attending NHL Training Camps

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A trio of Lethbridge Hurricanes players have been invited to attend National Hockey League (NHL) Training Camps this week.

21-year-old Justin Hall and 19-year-old Ty Nash will both attend the Edmonton Oilers camp.

Nash was selected by the ‘Canes in the ninth round, 183rd overall, in the 2018 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft but was undrafted in the NHL Entry Draft last summer during his first year of eligibility. He scored 17 goals and had 21 assists, along with 40 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Hurricanes during the 2021-2022 season. Nash was named the co-recipient of the Herman Elfring Community Relations Award and the ENMAX Corporation Hardest Working Hurricanes Award.

In three seasons with Lethbridge, Nash has accumulated 66 points (27 goals, 39 assists), along with 73 penalty minutes in 143 games.

Justin Hall led the Hurricanes in scoring during the 2021-2022 season, posting career highs in his final year with Lethbridge. He scored 34 goals and had 40 assists in 62 games, along with 24 penalty minutes. Over four seasons with the Hurricanes, the Edmonton player totaled 146 points (62 goals, 84 assists) and 57 penalty minutes in 188 games. At the end of this most recent season, Hall was named the recipient of the 106.7 ROCK Three Star Award, the Canadian Tire South Top Scorer and he took home the Harry Ingarfield Memorial Award as the Most Valuable Player.

Justin’s twin brother and Hurricanes’ alumnus Adam Hall (2018-2020) will also attend the Edmonton Oilers camp, along with former Hurricane Dino Kambeitz (2019-2021). The camp takes place this week.

Meanwhile, Lethbridge’s co-captain Joe Arntsen will be at the Carolina Hurricanes Development Camp through to July 14, 2022 in Morrisville, North Carolina. The 19-year-old scored eight goals and had 29 assists, along with 97 penalty minutes in 68 games during the 2021-2022 season.

Over four seasons with the Lethbridge club, Arntsen scored 10 goals and had 37 assists, with 156 penalty minutes, in 134 games.

In addition, Hurricanes alumnus Alex Cotton will be at the reigning Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche’s Development Camp this week. Cotton was drafted by Lethbridge in 2016 (round five, 99th overall) and played parts of five seasons with the team before being dealt to the Vancouver Giants early in the 2021-2022 season. Cotton was originally drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the fifth round (132nd overall) in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and attended their development camp in 2021.
