City of Lethbridge issues update on snow removal

Mar 24, 2024 | 5:12 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A significant snowfall hit southern Alberta over the past few days.

The City of Lethbridge says crews worked around the clock to ensure roads could remain accessible and the community could operate as normal.

Officials say that snow routes are no longer active and on-street parking can resume.

Additionally, beginning during the evening of Sunday, March 24, 2024, crews will be shifting their attention to priority two snow removal operations, which focus on school zones.

Graders will work in school zones during the evening to create windrows and will return on Monday to haul the snow away. Officials say that parents who will be dropping their children off at school on Monday should take note of the windrows, but the “short-term inconvenience” is the best approach to get these zones cleared and safe for the coming days.

Motorists are also asked to plan extra time into their commute and drive with caution.
