LPS searching for assault suspect

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for your help in locating a suspect in an assault at a northside store.

Just before 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, police say an unknown woman went to the customer service desk at the Walmart on the 3100 block of 26 Avenue North.

The woman was trying to return an item, but reportedly became impatient and caused a disturbance.

When she was asked to leave, LPS says the woman struck an employee in the side of the head with a tablet. The employee suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The woman fled the store.

LPS has released an image from the store’s security camera, showing who is believed to be the suspect.
