City of Lethbridge Fall Leaf Collection Program underway

Oct 2, 2024 | 2:43 PM

The City of Lethbridge’s Fall Leaf Collection Program is underway.

Lethbridge residents can contact 311 to arrange a pick-up for their fall leaves, and will be put in contact with city staff. They will then provide the caller with a date when they can expect their leaves to be collected.

The City is reminding those taking part that leaves must be put in paper yard waste bags and placed in the area where your waste collection cart is normally collected. They must be put out 24 hours ahead of your pick-up date and placed 1.5 meters away from waste collection carts.

Only paper bags will be accepted for the program since leaves and bags will be composted together. There is no limit on the number of bags set out for collection, but filled paper bags must not exceed a weight limit of 10 kg (25 lbs.) each.

The program runs until Friday, November 8. Those not using the program can mulch their leaves, backyard compost them or take them to any of the three City of Lethbridge Yard Waste Recycling sites.
