LETHBRIDGE, AB – A local non-profit had a very successful fundraising event this past weekend.

Wood’s Homes held its 2024 gala on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Coast Lethbridge Hotel & Conference Centre.

The night included live and silent auctions, interactive photo booths, speeches, dinner and more.

The theme of the evening was 1914, in honour of the group’s 110th anniversary.

It aimed to collect $73,000 in donations, which would be enough to cover the nightly cost per bed in their youth shelter for one year.

Wood’s Homes Foundation Director Bryan Goehringer says the total as of Monday morning is approximately $148,000.

Some pledges are still being finalized, so that amount may increase further in the days ahead.

“The funds raised will help us continue building good mental health and well-being, ensuring that everyone in the Lethbridge community can thrive. We can’t thank you enough for standing with us in support of such a vital cause,” Goehringer says.

Although the gala has wrapped up, donations can still be made on the Wood’s Homes website.
