Town of Raymond upgrades municipal golf course

RAYMOND – As part of flood mitigation efforts, the Town of Raymond has made some major changes to its municipally owned golf course.

The $1.6 million upgrades include adding five new ponds and expanding the nearby creek to run the entire length of the course.

All holes on the course now feature tee boxes for junior golfers to professionals, and some have been lengthened and adjusted to make the course more challenging.

The course has also been re-branded “Hell’s Creek-Raymond Golf and Footgolf Course.”

Footgolf is a sport that involves players kicking a ball into a type of cup in as few shots as possible. The Raymond course features the first footgolf course south of Calgary that has full amenities.
