LETHBRIDGE, AB – More than 5,000 people visited this year’s Christmas Tree Festival at the Enmax Centre.

24 trees were decorated in a variety of different styles and themes and were auctioned off to support upgrades to the mental health wing of Lethbridge’s hospital.

“Once again we are blown away by the support shown to us by the individuals and business in Lethbridge and surrounding area – we really can’t thank them enough,” says Jason VandenHoek, Executive Director of the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation.

“There was a great deal of excitement around this year’s auction and we had an amazing evening.”

The auction took place Wednesday evening but the public was able to view the trees in the Western Canadian Bank Lounge prior to the event.

Many of the trees that were purchased were donated to community groups in Lethbridge such as Chinook Regional Hospital, Interfaith Food Bank, Ecole Agnes Davidson School, and St. Paul’s School.

VandenHoek previously told LNN that last year’s Christmas Tree Festival raised around $165,000.
